Hello,
Welcome to our blog!
We are internship students at Local Travel Partners.
We are studying English and media at Tokoha University in Shizuoka City.
Our role is to visit our recommended spots in Shizuoka and introduce these places through writing blog posts.
We have already posted our 1st blog post in June.
This post is our second blog about tea, following our previous blog.

1. Maruzen Tea Roastery
This shop is the world’s first tea gelato cafe where you can choose the roasting temperature.
This cafe is a Japanese tea specialty store that proposes a new way of enjoying tea and tea gelato from the roasting temperature of 80℃, 100℃, 130℃, 200℃.
This cafe has many good things on the menu.
We would like to recommend two of them.
Tea affogato (720 JPY)
You can choose from three types of tea affogato: 130℃ (Genmai-cha), 130℃ (Sen-cha) and 200℃ (Hoji-cha).
I chose Sen-cha.
It had a bit of bitterness, but it was very delicious when I ate it with white cream.
Teahouse chicken hot sandwiches (670 JPY)
Teahouse chicken sandwiches are limited to five a day.
(A hot sandwich of chicken, gyokoro tea leaves and cheese)
It has a moderate tea flavor and is very delicious.
Please try the special tea ice cream!
Access: It takes 10 minutes on foot from JR Shizuoka Station
It is located in Gofukucho famous store street.

2. Leaf Paradise
This is a cafe and green tea leaf shop.
There are a lot of kinds of leaves and a lot of cafe menus.
Many foods and drinks use tea, and there are many types of tea leaves.
The owner will brew tea in a “kyusu” one at a time after ordering.
So, let me introduce my number one recommended menu!
Could you imagine the taste of mixed Matcha and Lemon?
I could not imagine the taste at all.
However, unexpectedly, matcha and lemon married perfectly.
It was introduced on T.V and became one of the recommended items by the store manager.
Matcha Lemon Soda (350 JPY)
Access: 10 minutes by taxi from JR Shizuoka Station.

3. chagama Main Store
There are more than 100 types of tea leaves always on offer.
You can sample all the teas of various origins and varieties.
You will surely find your favorite tea!
I bought a tea called “Rainbow Song”.
The rainbow song is sen-cha, lemongrass, and butterfly pea flavored tea.
Butterfly pea is popular among Thai women, and helps recover from eye strain, enhance skin-beautifying and combat swelling.
At first, it is a beautiful blue color, but when you add lemon, it turns purple!
By all means buy it and give it a try!
Access:
4 minutes walk from Shizutetsu Shin-Shizuoka Station (Cenova shopping center)
10 minutes walk from JR Shizuoka Station

Finally we would like to inform you that Shizuoka City, tea manufacturing companies, tea shops and tea farmers are providing unique events through the year.
Actually we took part in a stamp rally in Shizuoka City.
A stamp rally means going to different locations to collect stamps on a card.
(in this case, tea concerned locations)
In many rallies you can win prizes according to the number of stamps you collect!
We got this tenugui!(=Japanese traditional towel)
Local Travel Partners is providing a unique private tour to a green tea farm.
“Hybrid Bike Tour to a Green Tea Farm”
This is one of the most popular programs.
