Candle Workshop Niwa-Cafe & Izu Granpal Amusement Park by internship students

Hello,
We are internship students at Local Travel Partners.
We are studying English at Tokoha University in Shizuoka City.

This is our second posting about Izu Kogen area continued from our last blog post.
We hope you enjoyed our last post.

This time we would like to introduce you to Candle Workshop NIwa-Cafe and Izu Granpal Amusement Park.

We visited Candle Workshop Niwa-Cafe

This workshop is located very close to Mt.Omuro. (about 1.0km)
If you are interested in making your original candle, we recommend you visit this workshop.
You can make a rainbow lantern made of wax.

The way to make candles is pretty straightforward.
First, you shed a colored wax you chose into a round translucent plastic mold.
Then, you make the design you want to make by turning the mold.
You can make your own design with just a few ingenuities such as a floral pattern, wave pattern, gradation pattern, and so on.

The candle you make will be completed the next day.
You can pick it up by yourself the next day or receive it at your house.

Once you light a candle in the lantern, your room will be filled with gentle and warm light.
The combination of the lantern and calm music will give you a blissful time.

When you make it, it is important to think about the outside of the box.
We can give you a bit of advice.
Don’t think! Feel!

During the winter season, you can enjoy  experiential illumination which is called “gran illumi”.
It is an illumination which has been awarded the first prize of illumination ranking by “walker +” (a news media in Japan)  for consecutive years.
The key for regularly awarded this prize is to create new attractiveness every year.

This year, the illumination which is called “walk on the illumi” was introduced.
It enables us to walk on the love-themed illumination.
Moreover, we can enjoy the illumination shows, dance and music.

I went to Gran Illumi about 4 years ago and I really love it!
I had no idea there was a candle workshop.
That’s an excellent combo; I’ll definitely pay a visit and join in the workshop when it’s safe to travel again.
    Thank you for the information.
