Jiji-in Temple
The 27th generation Mr. Hakudo Ayukawa talks to you about Buddhism, Jiji-in temple in English without using an interpreter. You can enjoy Japanese tea sittiing on bench viewing the beautiful Japanese garden. This is a very rare experience at Japanese temples.
Jijii-in is a temple belonging to the Rinzai sect and it is thought that in ancient times the temple was located at the foot of Mt. Jijii-in or at Nishi-san-ji, but it was moved to its current location and re-established by the founder Anshitsu-kou in the Tenshou era (1573-1591).
Since then, it has been conducting Shinto and Buddhist rituals as the vassal temple of the adjacent Toyosumi Shrine, but due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism policy in the early Meiji era, it took on its current form.
The main object of worship is Jizo Bosatsu (a cultural property designated by the city and town)
